The Chief Mazengo campus is located in the Kikuyu region of Dodoma, some 3.5 kilometers southwest of the town center.
The University seeks applications from adequately qualified persons for the following positions:
Job Title: Nurse II (1 Post)
Reports to: Doctor-in-Charge
Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus – Dodoma
Job Summary:
Attending patients by developing patient care plans, giving and organizing patient care, educating patients and the general public about various health concerns, and offering patients counsel and emotional support.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications include a Form IV Certificate as well as a Nurse/Midwife Certificate or Public Health Nurse Certificate. Having computer abilities will be advantageous. Must be registered.
Experience
At least three (3) years of work experience in a health center or dispensary.
Duties and Responsibilities
A qualified applicant for this position must have the knowledge and abilities to keep accurate and complete health care records and reports.
Other important responsibilities include giving medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions. The additional obligations will be as follows:
Giving patients general nursing care;
Providing services for mothers and children;
Giving medication and medical care as directed by medical officers;
Offering health instruction on child spacing, nutrition, immunizations, family planning, and cleanliness; and
Fulfilling any additional responsibilities and duties that one’s reporting officer may designate.
Pay Scale: The SJUT Scheme of Service determines the staff salary rank.
Tenure: Four-year fixed-term contract that can be renewed after satisfactory performance.
